Jen and Mike both worked in the same school. Our secretary help us to move the communication that we were interested in each other. A romantic first date was planned for Longwood Garders, but it was closing when we got there. We decided to grab something to eat at Duffer’s on Rt 1… two salads and 4 hours later, we knew it was right. They discovered SO many things that they had in common. Mike had Jen’s late grandmother’s ring refurbished and Benari’s made it look AMAZING! Their wedding will have many personal touches added to honor their loved ones who have passed and their love ones who are present to share in their special day.

Thanks, Benari!! We’ll be in for our matching bands soon!

After having known Isaac my whole life, we only became really good friends in the past couple of years. He became one of my best friends, but I still never thought he may end up being the one I would marry. We took many walks down the old city streets at night, just talking and enjoying each others company. Friendship grew to love, and one special night, Isaac asked me to marry him, and my heart knew it was right. That was just the beginning of our love story. He had bought me the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. It was simple, yet elegant.

Our first date after our engagement was to town of Exton, PA to visit Benari Jewelers, where he purchased the ring, to get it re-sized. I loved how everyone was so friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgeable. Thanks to everyone there for such a pleasant experience. Everywhere I go, I get only compliments on my ring. We are now married, and the love is only growing and growing. I’m so thankful I have Isaac there to hold my hand through life.

Engagement Date: 5/7/2010

Casey and I were connected on eHarmony and met in person for the first time on June 3rd, 2009. Casey’s eHarmony account expired the day I sent him a message to begin communication. He later told me that he pondered whether or not he should renew his account for another month to email a girl he had never met. Luckily for me, Casey renewed his account and we were able to arrange our first date. As soon as Casey walked into the door of the Flying Pig in Malvern, I knew that he was “the one”. His kind eyes, big dimple and warm bear hug melted my heart. We spent the evening drinking beer and eating baskets of messy wings. That night Casey and I both agreed that it felt like we had known each other since childhood. From that day forward I began imagining my life as Casey’s wife.

Less than a year later on May 7th, 2010, Casey asked me to marry him. I thought that we were meeting friends for dinner at a BYOB in Rittenhouse Square. Casey and I sat on a park bench and “waited” for his friends to arrive so that we could all walk to the restaurant together. After thirty minutes of listening to Casey stumble through proclamations of his love for me, he told me that we were not in the park to meet his friends and that in actuality he had a special night planned for us. Casey pulled out a yellow Benari jewelry box and got down on one knee in front of me on the park bench. As soon as I saw the Benari box I began screaming and squealing (I knew there were good things to come)! He opened the box and there I saw the ring of my dreams that I had tried on four months before with a girl friend while in Benari to get her watch fixed. Unbeknownst to me, she guided Casey to the ring and he fell in love with it.

After screaming and carrying on in excitement at the park we walked to the BYOB where we were originally supposed to eat. The host led us to a table where a bouquet of flowers was waiting for me in shades of purple, my favorite color. To the waiter’s dismay, I did not order dinner that night. I was too excited and giddy to even think about eating. I sat and watched Casey eat his dinner while grilling him on the details of his surprise proposal. After dinner Casey suggested we stop at a bar to celebrate our engagement a little longer. Casey practically ran to the bar and when I walked in I realized why he was so anxious to get there. Sitting at a table right by the door was my best friend with her husband, and Casey’s best friend with his wife. Again, I screamed out loud at the sight of my friend. What more could a girl want than have her best friend around to share in immediate engagement bliss?

When reflecting on the thought and detail that Casey put into that night to make all I ever dreamed of, I l feel like the luckiest girl alive. I never imagined I would be planning a wedding with the most amazing man that I have ever laid my eyes on. Casey has become my best friend and I cannot wait to put a ring on his finger the day we are married to represent my endless commitment to him.

All week long my boyfriend told me we had to do something fun for the upcoming weekend. I knew he was having a hard time at work and attributed everything to him needing a break. Saturday came and it was pouring rain outside.

Being unable to think of anything really fun and different I showed up at his house with no ideas. After a little time of talking he said he thought of something we could do that night. He suggested dancing, which I laughed at because he doesn’t like to dance. When I saw he was serious I asked him where we would go. He simply replied “there’s no reason we can’t just dance here at the house.” I just brushed it off as if he was making a joke like he normally does.

As I found out later his original plan was to have a nice dinner with dancing afterwards, but what really happened was he wa s too excited and after another half an hour of being together he pulled me to my feet and said we should just dance now. He hits the play button and the first song is a mellow “don’t worry” type of song. He had me laughing and smiling as usual. Second song that comes on is Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.” Since I love Sinatra I still thought nothing of it.

It wasn’t until half way through the song that he told me to close my eyes, and when I opened them he was down on one knee with the ring in hand. He not only refused to let the rain ruin his original plans, but he sprung the best surprise a girl could dream of.

We met by accident in a park in Shanghai where I was lost and asking people if they spoke English. She replied yes, a little bit and we saw each other every day that trip in 2007. We corresponded for a year then I asked if I could come back. She replied of course and I returned.

She told me the Buddaha told her we were past lovers and destined to be together. I fell hopelessly in love with her smile and beautiful heart. I returned to China many times, started a small business there and met her family.

After much hard work and many disappointments she was granted a visa to come to America and get married which we did. Although we still do not know if she will be allowed to become a resident we are prepared to stay here or move back to China and we are very happy to be together.

Wedding Date: (undecided)

All I knew was that we were going to dinner. But with Dominick, the love of my life, things are never that simple. There’s always a surprise on top of a surprise on top of a surprise….

As I went to the front door, Dominick was standing there looking perfect in a black suit holding a dozen roses. Behind him was a stretched Dodge Charger, my favorite car, and a limousine driver holding a custom-made nylon banner that read “Only You! Shelly and Nicky’s Prom” with the date underneath the title. My heart began to melt because I never went to my prom in high school and I realized that Dominick, Nicky, was going to put a special night together. I just didn’t know how special just yet.

The limo took us to the Duling Kurtz House in Exton where we shared a fabulous meal. Dominick seemed very nervous and my heart began to flutter because I now had a feeling where the night was going. I now expected that somewhere during this magical night my soulmate was going to surprise me with a ring.

When we were back in the limo after dinner, Dominick told me he had a special gift for me that he made. He handed me a silver bag and when I pulled out the gift, I began to cry! He made me a photobook of our time together in a storybook format with his own words telling the story. It was SO BEAUTIFUL!! When I got to the last page, it was blank, and a note was inserted. It explained that the blank page represented our future, that it was yet to be written, that it could be anything we wanted it to be. It said that this now closed chapter one of our life together and that he wanted to start chapter 2 with a very important question. He then got down on one knee, took out the most breathtaking ring I have ever seen and asked me to marry him. Through my teary eyes I was able to say “YES” and embraced him!

But like I said, there’s always one more surprise. The limo took us to Sunnybrook Ballroom where a group of our friends and family were waiting for us to surprise me for the “prom”! The DJ stopped the music, announced our arrival and that we were engaged. The entire place gave us a standing ovation and we shared a special dance in the middle of the floor. It was the most romantic night of my life and as always he exceeded all of my wildest dreams. He’s my best friend, and I know that he always will be.

We met my junior/his first senior year of college at Penn State. We quickly found out that we had a lot of the same friends and were both going for engineering degrees and really just instantly connected and knew we were meant for each other!

Our wedding was held on the fourth of July at our alma mater, PSU. We are both lovers of the Penn State community, as life time members of the alumni association, members of the nittany lion club (hoping to get football season tickets soon), and just love the school itself. We even have a brick etched with our names on campus! When Jordan proposed, we couldn’t think of a better place to hold our union then the place it all started! It was also a great excuse for all of our friends to come back to school to party and our family to see the place we love most!

“According to Karen”
I have always believed that my Prince Charming was out there. At the age of thirty five, I was beginning to wonder if the fairy tale ending was possible. However, since Scott walked into my life it really didn’t take long to see that he was everything I thought I wanted, everything I actually needed, and so much more than I ever could have imagined. He is perfect for me. We began dating in March of 2009 and just ten months later Scott proposed!! We have created so many wonderful memories together already and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!

The Proposal…
“According to Scott”
This is the story of our engagement…as I recall it. On Friday, January 23, 2010, I asked Karen if she wanted to go for a walk in Valley Forge Park the following morning. My plan was to propose Saturday morning along our favorite path through the park, which is past the old church atop the hill. The day of the 23rd began with a series of disappointments as my anxiety grew, however. Karen kept informing me that she did not want to go for a walk because it was too cold and she wanted to go house hunting instead. We had Flyers tickets so I figured that we could go to the game and then walk the park. It would be just at about sunset which would be perfect. To my dismay Karen was again not in the mood for a walk. I persisted however, and she finally agreed. After walking for a while, we reached the church we had visited many times before. I got down on one knee and of course Karen said YES!! We were lucky enough to find another couple who took plenty of pictures of us as a newly engaged couple so that this memory could be preserved forever. It was a perfect engagement, right at sunset, in our favorite spot. We have not stopped smiling since.

A special thanks to Joel at Benari who put up with me through my tiring search for the perfect ring! She absolutely loves it…and so do I.

I made assumptions about when and how John was going to propose to me. We had planned on going to Pittsburgh to visit family for Thanksgiving and I was positive it was going to happen at Falling Water outside of Pittsburgh. When I accidentally shared all my thoughts, John denied the proposal saying he wasn’t ready and hadn’t talked to my father yet. I was devastated! The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to Buca di Bepo in Pittsburgh and he made motions like he was going to propose - we were talking about it, he reached into his pockets, and opened up his hands. Guess what! No ring. Again, I was devastated. We went to Falling Water on Sunday and throughout our tour, made fun of the idea that I thought we were getting engaged. After the tour we went to the View (the spot where I thought it was goin g to happen). We took pictures of the scenery and John pulled me aside. Again, thinking that we were going to joke around, I hugged him. Instead of walking away, he knelt down. This time there was a ring! Instead of saying “yes” right away, I just stammered, “You’re not kidding this time”. “Yes” came a few seconds after the shock wore off.
