All week long my boyfriend told me we had to do something fun for the upcoming weekend. I knew he was having a hard time at work and attributed everything to him needing a break. Saturday came and it was pouring rain outside.
Being unable to think of anything really fun and different I showed up at his house with no ideas. After a little time of talking he said he thought of something we could do that night. He suggested dancing, which I laughed at because he doesn’t like to dance. When I saw he was serious I asked him where we would go. He simply replied “there’s no reason we can’t just dance here at the house.” I just brushed it off as if he was making a joke like he normally does.
As I found out later his original plan was to have a nice dinner with dancing afterwards, but what really happened was he wa s too excited and after another half an hour of being together he pulled me to my feet and said we should just dance now. He hits the play button and the first song is a mellow “don’t worry” type of song. He had me laughing and smiling as usual. Second song that comes on is Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.” Since I love Sinatra I still thought nothing of it.
It wasn’t until half way through the song that he told me to close my eyes, and when I opened them he was down on one knee with the ring in hand. He not only refused to let the rain ruin his original plans, but he sprung the best surprise a girl could dream of.
