Chip and I have been in a relationship for five years. Through those years there have been many learning experiences. There were times when we thought it better to not be a couple, but with each goodbye we could not let go.

Then came the first weekend in August. We spent the day at my parents’ with family, BBQ’n and swimming. When night fell, Chip put on some great music to dance to and we danced the night away, singing to one another, songs that brought tears to our eyes. Later when we went to bed Chip rolled over looked me in the eyes and said ” Will you marry me?” I wasn’t sure if he was serious at first, then I realized he was.

He said he wanted to propose the “right way” and he would when he was able to. He wanted to talk to my dad and buy a ring of course, but he was so moved by us in that moment he had to express his love. I was not expecting another proposal to happen too quickly, but to my surprise the following tuesday he went to Benari Jewelers and bought me the most beautiful ring I had ever seen and spoke to my mother and father.

On the thursday after work, I walked into his apratment, with no idea that the man of my dreams was going to sweep me off my feet. I got to the apartment and the bedroom door was closed; the door is never closed. I asked why, and he responded with, “I wanted it to be nice and cold in there for you.” I opened the door and I found myself emersed in flowers – roses, and more roses, red, white, three colors of pink, purple, at least 13 dozen roses, dasies, lillies. On the bed written in red roses was “Will you?”

In a panic of happiness I said, “What are you doing?” He got down on both knees, and asked me to marry him. I was in histerics, hyperventilating. I briefly walked away and turned around and I saw his tears. I said, “Yes”, got on my knees as well, and kissed my future husband!
