Wedding Date: May 8, 2009
My sisters always told me everyone meets at work and I swore from that moment on I would never date anyone I ever worked with! And then came Jeff…
I was working at a mortgage company for 2 years before Jeff was hired. I sat right outside of the boss’s office and first saw Jeff when he came in for his interview. I thought to myself, now why cant I find a handsome man like that! A few weeks later when Jeff started, luck would have it that he was placed on my team. He was in sales and I was in operations and so I supported him while he was out visiting customers. For 6 months, Jeff tried to talk to me about more than just work but I wanted nothing to do with it as I was trying hard to follow my golden rule! At that point, I changed roles and moved into sales and as luck would have it again, I got placed with Jeff to ride with him for a week to see what it was like in the day of a life as an Account Executive. That first day on the road together I had the best day of my life and never lauged so hard… I went home and told my girlfriends that this guy was something special but still not wanting to break my rule. After the week was up, Jeff asked me to dinner to celebrate my move to sales (although he had another agenda!) Over dinner he confessed that he had been trying to get my attention for 6 months and said some of the most beautiful things to me that no guy had ever said before. From that moment on, we haven’t spent more than a few days apart.
We knew within 30 days we would marry one day but what we didnt know was that there were obstacles we would have to overcome to do so!
The most challanging obstacle and the most significant one to me knowing that Jeff and I would be together forever is that we built a house together and two months before moving in the mortgage market crashed and we both lost our jobs, and then two others throughout the course of the year. With no jobs, a house to pay for, and the stress that it brought could have spelled disaster for our new relationship. However, we made it through and are now more secure in our love and knowing that together we can handle anything!
I waited for my ring for 2 and 1/2 years and Im not waiting any longer to get married! We planned the entire event in 2 months and are getting married in 18 days!
I have to thank Abby at Benari for being such a great help to Jeff who didn’t let me know he was even thinking of proposing and I had no say in my gorgeous ring. It was exactly what I would have picked and just shows that he really truly knows me.
I think I have been in to see Abby every few weeks to get it steamed because I just love it so much. The main stone is actually a heart shape that was my mothers, who died 6yrs ago, and Jeff asked my father for it because he knew it would mean the world to me (that is another story for another day!).
Hope you enjoy our story, and I cannot wait for the wedding in a few weeks!
