Bob and I met in June of 2006. We had been talking about getting married for some time, and around our one year anniversary we stopped into BENARI JEWELERS to get some information on engagement rings and to see what styles we liked.

Bob had been talking with the staff at Benari and was making plans to purchase the ring when a horrible accident halted our engagement plans. Bob fell off of a two story glass roof and shattered his right ankle. He was in the hospital for over a week after his first surgery.

On November 1st we were sitting on the couch when Bob told me that he had started to look at rings before the accident and he knew how much I wanted a romantic proposal. He said, “We can go pick up the ring tonight together or you can wait and I will surprise you, although I have no idea how long that may be.” So being the impatient woman that I am, I said, “Lets go!!”

Bob called Benari to let them know we were on our way. At this point Bob still had the fixator on his leg and had to be pushed around in a wheelchair. So I wheeled him into the store and we looked at one of the diamonds he had picked out. Once we made our choice they set it in the ring and then handed the little yellow box to Bob. They offered us champagne and well wishes in the store and then we headed home.

I had told Bob all along that I did not expect, nor did I want him to get down on one knee out of fear that he would hurt himself. Once we were home and relaxing on the couch Bob got up and got down on one “rod” as we like to say and said the sweetest things to me, he was in tears, and I was in tears soon thereafter. Of course I said yes!!!
